The 70-180mm F2.8 G2 achieves the smallest size and lightest weight
for its class while maintaining its quick F2. 8 aperture and 180mm at
the telephoto end. The optical design has undergone a complete overhaul
to ensure the highest level of mobility. Unwavering optical performance
across the entire zoom range is achieved by the precise combination of
specialized glass, including XLD2 and LD3 lens elements.

The AF drive employs the VXD4 linear motor focus mechanism, combining
class-leading speed and precision, and enabling fast and accurate
focusing. This enhances the tracking of moving subjects, ensuring you
never miss decisive scenes whether shooting still images or video. 

The 70-180mm F2.8 G2 is equipped with Tamron's VC5 mechanism, which
suppresses any camera shake that tends to occur when shooting at the
telephoto end, during close focusing, or when shooting in low-light
conditions, enabling sharper results. 

This Tamron 70-180mm lens has been made to shoot at close distances
using autofocus, with the Minimum Object Distance shortened to 0.3m
(11.8in) at 70mm. At 70mm, the working distance is 12cm (4.7in) and the
maximum magnification ratio is 1:2.6, opening up new possibilities for
creative expression.

This telephoto zoom lens is capable of being used with the TAMRON
Lens Utility software, which enables users to modify lens settings,
allocate camera body functions, and perform firmware updates as
required. This includes a TAMRON Lens Utility Waterproof USB Port and
functions being added, allowing you to tailor functions that suit
diverse still photography and videography shooting styles, enhancing
your shooting experience with a more personalised touch. On top of this,
a custom switch and focus-set button have been added.

The lens is resistant to fingerprints and dirt thanks to its Moisture-Resistant Construction and hydrophobic Fluorine Coating.
