TAMRON 20-40MM F2.8 Di III VXD LENS - SONY E MOUNT

Tamron has developed it's new 20-40mm f/2.8 DI III VXD lens to be compatible with Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras. This compact and lightweight zoom lens is the smallest and lightest in its class* and delivers a fast f2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range. Other features include a minimum focus distance of just 0.17m (6.7in), a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8 (at the wide end) and a quiet auto-focusing system that makes this lens a fantastic choice for videographers.

Fast f2.8 Aperture
The lens offers a fast and bright aperture of f2.8 across the entirety of the zoom range to unlock a wealth of options for photography styles. You can capture outstanding portraits with beautifully blurred backgrounds as well as street and food photos. The lens is also fantastic for landscapes at the 20mm end and is lightweight enough to take with you on your travels.

Perfect for Macro and Video
The 20-40mm F2.8 Di III VXD has a minimum focusing distance of just 17cm (6.7in) and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8 at the wide end. This makes it a perfect choice for macro and close-up photography.

The lens is compact, lightweight and well balanced even when accessories like camera grips or gimbal stabilisers are attached. Add to this a quiet auto-focusing system and you have a fantastic lens for videography.

The 20-40mm f2.8 features Tamron’s VXD linear motor focus mechanism for high-speed, high-precision autofocusing. This delivers outstanding focus tracking of moving objects so you never miss the shot.

Design and Build
The 20-40mm F2.8 Di III VXD is incredibly compact and lightweight weighing in at 365g and measuring just 86.5mm in length. The lens is constructed of 12 elements in 11 groups, including four LD (Low Dispersion), two GM (Glass Moulded Aspherical) and one Hybrid Aspherical lens elements, to effectively deliver uncompromising high image quality throughout the entirety of the 20-40mm zoom range. The lens features 9 circular aperture blades, to produce beautiful bokeh and a 67mm filter size which is the same as many other Tamron lenses, allowing you to use the same size filters or adapter rings on all your lenses. The lens is also Moisture-Resistant and features Fluorine Coating.
